¿Qué es interact?
Interact es una organización internacional de servicio, establecido por Rotary International. Los clubes Interact están compuestos por jóvenes de 14 a 18 años, trabajando de manera independiente por mejorar o ayudar en las áreas más necesitadas de la comunidad. Interact toma su nombre de la combinación de las palabras "INTERnational" y "ACTion".
Interact busca formar líderes por medio del servicio, por ésto sólo son elegibles para formar parte de estos clubes los que cumplan con éstas características: deseo de servir al prójimo y capacitarse para el liderazgo; disposición para resolver problemas, entablar nuevas amistades y formar parte de un equipo; iniciativa para planificar programas de club, ayudar a la comunidad o recaudar fondos para un proyecto costoso; curiosidad acerca del mundo que los rodea; y ferviente anhelo de luchar por el logro de la comprensión internacional. Pero quizá el requisito más importante es saber divertirse sirviendo.
Cada Club Interact funciona bajo la guía de su Club Rotario Patrocinador pero la planificación, organización y desarrollo de las actividades dependen únicamente del club Interact. Anualmente cada club deber emprender al menos dos proyectos de servicio, uno a nivel de la comunidad y otro destinado a promover la paz mundial y la buena voluntad.

The Interact Handbook describes Interact as a "Rotary-sponsored service club for young people age 14-18 or secondary-school-aged students. All Interact clubs carry out at least two service projects yearly -- one that serves the school or community and another that furthers international understanding. Every Interact club is sponsored by a Rotary club, which provides guidance on a continuing basis. In addition, Interactors often form a service partnership with the sponsoring Rotarians, lending their enthusiastic support to a variety of Rotary projects.
"Interact benefits its young members, the sponsoring Rotary club, and the community that the Interactors serve. Through Interact, young people develop initiative, leadership skills, and lasting friendships. The Rotary club gains a service partner, as well as an opportunity to prepare its community's youth for future leadership.
"Founded in 1962, Interact stands for International Action. The first club was established in Melbourne, Florida, USA, but the movement quickly spread to many other parts of the world. Today, there are 24,500 clubs in 69 countries and geographical areas worldwide, with a membership of 53,000.
"Interact falls under the auspices of the Partner's in-Service section of RI's Community Development Programs. That's because a successful Interact program depends on a close working relationship between the Interactors and their sponsoring Rotary club. Another important element in this partnership is the district Interact committee, which promotes and administers the program district wide."
